From the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus:

Funding and technical assistance are available through the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus Public Sector Energy Efficiency Program to help public agencies implement energy efficiency projects.

Funded through the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), our program is available to all public agencies, including municipalities, schools, libraries, park districts, and townships. Grant reimbursements can be up to $300,000 per facility location for projects including boiler and chiller replacements, HVAC system tune-ups, indoor and outdoor lighting upgrades, heat distribution system upgrades, pipe insulation, and more. Projects result in energy and cost savings, and have an average payback of 3.49 years. Select HVAC system maintenance and upgrade projects may also be completed at no direct cost to the public agency. For more information, download the flyer here.
