Employment opportunity: Orland Park streets operations manager


The Village of Orland Park’s Public Works Department is seeking a Streets Operations Manager to oversee the planning, organization, coordination, and administration of the activities of the Street Division operations. This position is responsible for maintaining over 500 lane miles of roadways, 3,100 street lights and 28,000 parkway trees within the village limits. The division is also responsible for administering the Village’s Road Improvement Program including street rehabilitation, pavement patching, pavement marking, crack sealing, sidewalk slab jacking, pneumatic curb repair and pavement rejuvenator. Also included is parkway tree management, excavation restoration, leaf collection and snow operations.

This highly responsible position will establish the Street Division’s strategic plan and sets short-term and long- term goals and objectives in collaboration with the department director. This position will prepare the Street Division operating budget of approximately $3,500,000, $4,000,000 capital budget, manage and monitor the budget including reviewing and approving expenditures while assumes responsibility for controlling expenditures. In addition, this position will participate in performance management programs, establish and coordinate the data collection of division performance measures, and reviews reports and makes recommendations for improvement.
