Employment opportunity: Midlothian Village Treasurer

The Village of Midlothian is accepting applications for a Village Treasurer.

The Treasurer performs a variety of routine and complex supervisory, accounting, and finance work involving custody and safekeeping of Village funds and monies, accounting records and Public records conforming to Village and State laws. This is a full time non-union position. The Treasurer reports to the Village Board of Trustees and is appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Village Board.

The Village Treasurer will manage, direct and supervise the Village Accountant and Accounts Payable Clerk and will have oversight of the general ledger, accounts payable, payroll and related accounting functions. The position also assists and advises department heads and staff by developing Village financial policies, preparing revenue/expense forecasts and cash flow analyses, preparing monthly financial status reports, performing cost benefit analyses, preparing forecasts and various other financial analyses as needed.
