Employment opportunity: Matteson Senior Building Inspector

The Village of Matteson, IL, is seeking to fill the position of Senior Building Inspector for the daily direction and supervision of the Building Services, a division of the Community Development Department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: residential and commercial plan reviews and inspections, building code and property maintenance enforcement, issuance of building permits, record maintenance, budget preparation, and maintaining an understanding of current practices and procedures in the field of building construction.

Minimum qualifications: certification as a residential/commercial building inspector, two years’ post-secondary college or technical instruction, a minimum of three years’ experience as a building inspector or equivalent, including three years performing residential/commercial plan reviews/inspection/compliance.

This is a full-time position, Monday- Friday, with some Saturdays, during normal working hours. Benefits provided by the Village include paid vacation and sick leave, life, medical and dental insurance, 10 paid holidays and retirement plan. Salary to $70,562 DOQ.
