PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT

The Village of East Hazel Crest is seeking a Superintendent of Public Works.  This is a full time position reporting directly to the Village Administrator.

The successful candidate is responsible for but not limited to the following:

  1. Understanding and enforcing the Village’s personnel policy, risk management policy, and department operational policy.

  2.  The daily operation of Public Works which includes water, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, parks, streets, sidewalks, street lighting, tree maintenance, commuter parking lot, and buildings.

  3.  Writing department operation policies, additional safety policies, department goals and objectives and preparing all reports for various governing agencies.

  4.  Setting up training for employees and scheduling work assignments.

  5.  Department equipment.

  6.  Acting as liaison for all construction done in the village.

  7.  Holding an active I.E.P.A class C or better water certification and shall be responsible for the village’s pump station, water tank, sewer lift stations, and SCADA system.

  8.  Handling all department outsource contracts.

  9.  Having a valid CDL class B driver’s license.

  10.  Attending village board meetings, and any other meetings that benefit the Village.

  11.  Emergency management system knowledge

  12.  Availability for after hours call outs.
