Employment opportunity: Country Club Hills water operator

The City of Country Club Hills is now accepting applications for the following FULL-TIME position vacancy:


Minimum Qualifications: Education/Experience/Training • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) • Experience operating and maintaining water/sewer systems • Experience installing, repairing and testing of meters • Class C water operator’s license • Must possess valid Class B CDL

Skills/Abilities: • Verbal and written communication skills • Ability to follow written and oral instructions • Knowledge of SCADA • Knowledge of water treatment and sampling techniques • Knowledge of tools, materials and equipment used in water/sewer treatment • Knowledge of mathematical and chemical concepts • Ability to read blueprints • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, associates and the general public

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: • Maintain records and meter readings of water plant production/use • Take water samples • Operate chlorinators, pumps, etc. • Responsible for maintenance and inspection of towers, reservoirs, buildings and sewer lift stations • Respond to water/sewer related complaints • Prepare water quality report for State EPA • Assist meter readers and public work laborers as needed
