The Village of Burnham is seeking a candidate for a Laborer position in Public Works with a dependable and positive attitude and follows directions. Location: Village of Burnham Job Type: Full Time Employee in Public Works Years of Experience: 2- 3 years experience in manual labor preferred Starting Salary: $16.00 per hour for 90 days probationary period Education Level: High School or equivalent Career Level: Experienced (non-manager) Examples of Qualifications and Duties:
Require a Illinois CDL (Commercial Driver License)
Require to pass a post job offer drug test
Able to operate and assists in the maintenance of vehicles and equipment such as bucket truck , front-end loader, bobcat with various attachments, and dump truck.
Performs required labor involved in construction and maintenance projects as part of a crew.
Ensures proper maintenance of equipment and tools by cleaning and checking equipment and tools after use.
Drives trucks of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling, and unloading of various equipment and materials.
Follows and enforces recommended safety practices.
Operates and maintains equipment such as chipper, chain saw, and other hand tools, etc.
Operates power and hand tools as needed to accomplish the work.
Performs emergency inspections and repairs such as snow/ice removal, storm clean-up, street repair, etc.
Assists and fills in for other utilities workers when necessary.
Have experience in Tree Trimming, preferably (1-3 years)
Able to operate the street sweeper.
Performs other duties as required.
