Police Chief The Village of Hazel Crest is seeking candidates for position of Chief of Police for a department with 30 sworn officers and eight civilian staff. The salary range is $100,000 to $115,000.

Public Works Director Incorporate in 1911, and operating under the council-manager form of government, the Village of Hazel Crest is currently seeking a Public Works Director. This is a professional position at the upper level management level. Please click here for the full job posting. The successful candidate: • Will have extensive knowledge of best practices in the delivery and management of public works services which includes water and waste services, street and traffic control maintenance and construction, building, storm water collection and associated services provided by the public works department; • Will have a minimum work experience and qualifications of seven (7) years’ of progressively responsible experience in county or city government in the areas of public works with at least five years management experience. Experience must include development and implementation of strategic long-range plans, operations and capital improvement budgeting, developing goals, evaluating performance and holding others accountable for results; • Will establish and maintain collaborative local, regional and state partnerships to aid in service delivery; • Will seek continuous improvement of public works operations, implementing best practices while monitoring performance for effectiveness and efficiency; • Will have extensive knowledge of leadership practices including the ability to supervise, motivate and inspire others; • Will have highly developed oral and written communication skills, including the ability to influence effectively. • Will have a minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Public or Business Administration, or related field from an accredited college or university; • Will have a minimum of seven (7) years previous public works utilities; five (5) years management experience.

Compensation will be negotiated depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits are in addition to the compensation.
