SSMMA met with Urban Transportation Center researchers from the University of Illinois and Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways officials May 8 to plan and scope the Dolton and Riverdale Freight Study, which is an Invest in Cook funded project. The study will examine how at-grade railroad crossings disproportionately affect Cook County’s south suburbs and explore possible solutions for improving mobility.
