The city of Des Plaines last week authorized its annual distribution of millions of dollars to the state of Illinois and 10 South suburban communities in revenue generated by Rivers Casino in Des Plaines.
As part of the agreement that allowed Rivers Casino to develop the state’s 10th riverboat gaming operation in Des Plaines, the city must pay the state of Illinois $10 million in host community tax income annually and 40% of the remaining tax revenue to 10 needy South suburban communities…Please click here to read Todd Wessell’s story in Journal & Topics.
