Heading back from our annual family venture to Colorado, passing the aftermath of a month of storms — dry irrigation ditches turned into flowing streams, placid streams swolen into small rivers and rivers into torrents overflowing their banks – got me thinking about home.

Friends sometimes ask why we stay in an area often ignored and red-lined by those whose vision stops at the dollar sign above the numeral 4 on their keyboard of life.
