The Village of Crestwood officially became the South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association’s newest member on June 1, 2015. The Village of Crestwood is located in Cook County, Illinois, 17 miles south of Chicago’s Loop. The village was incorporated in 1928 with a population of 400 people. Crestwood experienced significant residential growth in the 1960s and 1970s. Its population grew from 1,213 in 1960 to 10,852 in 1980, with little change in the two decades after that. As of the 2000 census, the population is 11,251 people.
