SSMMA welcomes newest member: The Village of Crestwood

SSMMA

The Village of Crestwood officially became the South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association’s newest member on June 1, 2015. Please join us in welcoming Mayor Louis (Lou) Presta, Village Manager William Graffeo, village officials, municipal staff and the entire Crestwood community. Their village hall is located at 13840 S. Cicero Avenue, and the phone number is 708-371-4800.

The Village of Crestwood is located in Cook County, Illinois, 17 miles south of Chicago’s Loop. The village was incorporated in 1928 with a population of 400 people. Crestwood experienced significant residential growth in the 1960s and 1970s. Its population grew from 1,213 in 1960 to 10,852 in 1980, with little change in the two decades after that. As of the 2000 census, the population is 11,251 people.

The village is a total of 3.1 square miles, bounded on the north by the Calumet-Saganski Channel, Pulaski Avenue to the east, Central Avenue to the west and 143rd Street to the south…Read more here.
