The Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC) Governing Board has awarded the final contract extension on the 2016 Horton Type I Additional Duty Ambulance to Foster Coach Sales, Inc., of Sterling. The contract runs from January 21, 2016 through October 1, 2017 and contains a 3.5% price increase.
Horton Emergency Vehicles has introduced a new Intelliplex i4G system and new door handles for 2016, which are partly responsible for the price increase. Additionally, 2016 federal and state specifications require a 4-point harness for seating areas in the patient compartment, making it safer for the attendant in the back of the ambulance.
