A coalition of local economic development groups—the Chicago Southland Economic Development Corporation, Will County Center for Economic Development, and the Economic Alliance of Kankakee County– joined Illinois State Rep. Anthony DeLuca and Rick Bryant, senior advisor to Congressman Robin Kelly to provide testimony March 14 before the Illinois House of Representatives Appropriations-Capital Committee on behalf of the South Suburban Airport.
Representing the coalition of economic development groups, SSMMA’s Economic Development Director/ CSEDC Director Reggie Greenwood stated that they “are all in support of completing the work necessary to construct the South Suburban Airport (SSA) located in eastern Will County along the I-57 logistics and e-commerce corridor.” Read his entire prepared remarks and view a South Suburban Airport Land Acquisition Map here.
