Richton Park, like many communities over the years, is fighting what appears to be a losing battle with a railroad line.
The village has obtained a state grant of $205,000 to construct sound barrier walls along a Canadian National Railway line that passes within a few hundred yards of residential homes.
But the CN railroad will not give Richton Park access to its right-of way to erect the sound barriers…Please click here to read Phil Kadner’s column in the Southtown Star.
