Orland Park may reward residents for civic involvement


Orland Park wants its residents to be more civically engaged — so much so it’s willing to reward them to do it.

The village is planning to partner with a Chicago startup, BondingPoint, which offers an online platform to help towns give incentives to residents for getting involved.

BondingPoint chief executive John Calzaretta said he’s been building the company for about a year. His first “municipal-type” client is the Chicago Park District, he said.
