An Orland Park firefighter on his way to work was killed in a single-vehicle crash Sunday morning, officials said.
Wes Peak, 36, of Manteno, was killed when his vehicle crashed on I-57 and 190th Street in southwest suburban Matteson, officials said. After losing control he struck a metal pole and was ejected, officials said.

Visitation will take place from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave., Orland Park. His funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Parkview Christian Church, 11100 Orland Parkway, Orland Park, with burial to follow in Peotone Cemetery.
