Oct. 10th: DCEO seeks input on 5-year economic development plan

image001

An Invitation For a Better Economy and a Better Illinois The Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity will soon begin work on an Economic Development Plan to help guide our state over the next five years.

This plan will address such items as job creation, workforce development, our business environment, poverty reduction, regional needs, and business attraction, among others.

It is impossible to do such a plan well without the input of economic developers, elected officials, and businesses around the state.

DCEO Assistant Director Dan Seals would like to begin that process by inviting you to share your thoughts on your economic development ideas at a forum we are holding in your area. The goal of this forum will not be to debate current policy, but rather to listen to your thoughts and those of your colleagues on what our future policies should be.  The DCEO,  SSMMA and CSEDC  hope you can join us. For questions, please contact Holly Campbell at 773 909 1651.

When: Oct 10, 2013, 2-4 p.m.

Where: SSMMA Offices
