News Flash! Metra extends comment deadline to Mar. 8 on proposed ME schedule changes

Southland municipal leaders and officials met with Metra on Feb. 24 at the Hazel Crest Municipal Center to discuss proposed Metra Electric schedule changes.

Metra is proposing revisions to the Metra Electric Line schedule in response to the implementation of the federally mandated Positive Train Control (PTC) safety system. These changes will mostly affect trains arriving or departing Millennium Station during rush hour periods from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Metra is proposing other changes including new stopping patterns and departure and arrival time adjustments. Please review the new schedule and determine how these changes would affect your trips. Comments will be taken until March 8, 2020 (Note: Metra has extended the previous deadline of Mar. 1).  Metra may revise the proposal based on feedback.
