Monee Creamery becomes town’s first historic landmark

The cauldron, molds and other cheese making tools have long since disappeared from the Monee Creamery, but the village’s only remaining limestone structure still stands as a solid reminder of its rural heritage.

For those reasons and more, the old creamery, built in the late 1800s, will be designated as a Will County historic landmark, making it Monee’s first landmark.
