From the Regional Transportation Authority and the Illinois Department of Revenue:

The Illinois Department of Revenue recently announced there will be a public hearing on its proposed permanent amendments to rules regarding local sales tax sourcing on Friday, March 21, 2014 at 10am. This hearing will be held simultaneously at the Department’s offices in Springfield and Chicago at Illinois Department of Revenue, JRTC – 7th Floor, Room 7-216 100 West Randolph, Chicago, IL 60601, and will be simulcast as a video conference.

Your participation is crucial. Local governments need to take advantage of this opportunity to explain how these tax avoidance practices have hampered budgets, delayed infrastructure repairs and kept new projects on hold because unscrupulous companies have denied municipalities and counties the revenue they are due.
