If you are in the Southland this weekend and you happen to see several vintage vehicles, chances are they’re in the midst of a scavenger hunt.

The 13th annual Driving the Dixie will take place Saturday (June 21, 2014).

“Driving the Dixie” is similar to a scavenger hunt. Participants will follow individual instructions to points of interest. During the drive, spectators can visit historical sites, specialty shops, antique shops, restaurants and community events…Please click here to read Evan F. Moore’s story in the Southtown Star,  here for the event’s web page or here for a related story.

Registration begins at 8:30 am. and ends at 10:00 sharp. Meet in the parking lot kitty-corner from Moraine Valley Collage in Blue Island on Western Ave. Enjoy a cup of “java” and a donut with friends and leave at your leisure.

Passports will be issued the day of the event. All participants must leave form this point, no passports will be issued at any other point. Day of event registration is $20.00.
