James Ford is the new mayor of Country Club Hills

Voters in Country Club Hills on [April 7] elected Ald. James Ford as mayor, replacing the colorful and controversial Dwight Welch, who supported Ford as his successor.

With all 12 precincts reporting, Ford, the city’s 4th Ward alderman, had 32.6 percent of the vote compared with 24 percent for Ald. Lisa Evans, 3rd Ward; 19.4 percent for Ald. Anthony Davis, 5th Ward; and 18.4 percent for Ald. Vincent Lockett, 2nd Ward. Sherman Williams, a former 2nd Ward alderman, got just 5.4 percent of the vote.
