The
Illinois Environmental Protection Agency has announced the availability of Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement (CMAQ) Program federal funding for the purchase of new natural gas or propane fleet vehicles or the conversion of conventional fleet vehicles to natural gas or propane in the Chicago area. Illinois is making available up to $860,329 in CMAQ Chicago Area Green Fleet funding. The purpose of this CMAQ funding is to enable the State to make awards to grantees for implementing eligible projects that reduce emissions from on-road vehicles in the Chicago ozone nonattainment area where there is a disproportionate amount of air pollutant emissions and where air quality improvements are needed. Applicants may find the notice of funding opportunity and application materials here. Applications are due September 17, 2019.
