The signs covering the windows of the old Great Lakes Bank building in downtown Homewood first read, “Coming Fall 2013.” Then, “Fall 2014.” And finally, “Summer 2015.”

The last one had it right.

On Saturday, La Banque Hotel — an upscale, 18-room “boutique hotel” — will have its ribbon-cutting ceremony. La Voute (“the Vault”) Bistro & Bar, a 90-seat restaurant situated in the oldest part of the building, had a soft opening last week.

“It’s been a long time coming,” owner Claude Gendreau said. “That’s for sure…” Please click here to read Phil Arvia’s story in the Tribune/Daily Southtown. Additional photos are here.
