Federal funds sought to improve Tinley Park intersections


Tinley Park elected officials are seeking federal funds for improvements at intersections on 175th Street that could include roundabouts.

Village Board members voted last week to seek the financial help for intersections at Ridgeland, 84th and 94th avenues, where improvements have a total projected cost of $7.7 million for engineering, land acquisition and construction.

The board was responding to a call for financing requests from East Hazel Crest-based South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association, which is acting as a screening agency for the federal transportation tax dollars…Please click here to read Dennis Sullivan’s story in the Chigago Tribune.
