Employment opportunity: Chicago Heights city engineer

The City of Chicago Heights is seeking qualified applicants for the position of City Engineer. The position requirements include but are not limited to a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering; Professional Engineer certification and licensing in the State of Illinois; Structural Engineering License in Illinois a plus. Candidates must have seven (7) to ten (10) years of civil engineering/municipal engineering experience. Experience working with the Illinois Department of Transportation, Cook County, and Metropolitan Water Reclamation District preferred.

The City Engineer position will be responsible for performing technical engineering reviews and inspections while managing all phases of the City’s capital improvement projects, new construction and road projects. This position will report to the City of Chicago Heights Chief of Staff. The salary range for this position is $85,000-$110,000 and salary will be commensurate with educational background, experience and certifications. This position will remain open until filled.
