Crete rail yard revived again


Railroad CSX has revived plans for an intermodal rail yard on the south end of the village of Crete, according to village and county officials.

Preliminary plans are to build a rail yard on about 200 acres of the approximately 1,000 acres the village annexed almost a decade ago for the same purpose, according to Crete Village President Michael Einhorn.
