Beginning in 2013, the Village of Crestwood, Illinois became the host of an annual event to raise funds for the Special Olympics, a non-profit, 501{c) 3 organization that promotes an annual sporting event for young people with disabilities.
Titled, “Battle in the Burbs,” our annual event pits the mayors/managers and elected officials from throughout the south and southwest suburbs of Chicago against the police and fire chiefs of this same region. Our first year, we had over 40 municipal Mayors and police and fire chiefs take part in the event. By the third year, that number has grown to over seventy participants.
For the first time ever in 2015, the south suburban mayors team, Big Hitters, were the winners of the 3rd Annual Battle In The Burbs. Who will win this year?
