Alsip approves $4M for redevelopment project

In a rushed vote under a tight deadline they were unaware of, Alsip trustees this week approved spending an initial $4 million to help redevelop property at 123rd Place and Cicero Avenue.

Developer Paul Dresden sought the money, from the fund of a special taxing district, for the project, which will include a hotel, banquet hall, stores and restaurants on 11 acres.
