The Department also includes one of the longest tenured housing authorities in the Chicagoland area. Staff oversight includes 8 full-time personnel plus seasonal hires. Ideal candidates should have municipal community development experience and a working knowledge of building codes (local codes, BOCA, etc.). An excellent ability to interpret building code requirements and interact with the public is critical. A bachelor's degree in architecture, planning, engineering, public administration, political science, or similar area of emphasis is desired. Salary range for position is $114,812 to $151,186 plus excellent benefits. Starting salary commensurate with successful candidate’s experience. - RFQ: Village of Robbins - Claire Boulevard Resurfacing Project
General: The Village of Robbins (Village) is accepting Qualifications from engineering firms that are prequalified by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) to provide Preliminary (Phase I), Design (Phase II), and Construction (Phase III) Engineering Services for the Claire Boulevard Resurfacing project. Project Description: The Claire Boulevard Resurfacing project involves hot-mix asphalt surface removal and replacement with polymerized leveling binder and hot-mix asphalt surface course, spot curb and gutter removal and replacement, driveway, sidewalk, ADA detectable warnings removal and replacement, where necessary, and thermoplastic striping. The project limits are from Francisco Ave to Kedzie Avenue. The project is being funded through a combination of Surface Transportation Program (STP) and Local funds and must adhere to all Village, State, and Federal requirements. The Village expects the Preliminary Engineering to start as soon as possible and is hopeful to make a spring 2024 IDOT letting. The Village is hoping to begin construction in late fall 2024. The construction budget for this project was estimated at $414,000. - November 2023 - EPA Water Infrastructure Workshop and Resources
On November 7, 2023, SSMMA hosted a Water Infrastructure Workshop with municipal representatives attending. The workshop consisted of discussions and presentations on significant resources available to address water infrastructure needs as provided by the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law as well as special emphasis on options for lead service line inventories and replacements. Cook County Bureau of Asset Management also shared information about new ARPA resources available through their Build Up Cook program. Find the presentations below:
