Dinner participants raise a glass to toast the SSMMA golf outing’s 40th anniversary at the July 19 event in Crete.
More than 200 joined us on July 19 at the Lincolnshire Country Club / Lincoln Oaks Golf Club in Crete for golf and/or dinner to celebrate SSMMA’s 40th golf outing anniversary. Three or four of the first year’s participants–including Ed Paesel, former Sauk Village mayor and former SSMMA executive director; Orland Hills Administrator Conrad Kiebles, former SSMMA planner; and East Hazel Crest Mayor Thomas Brown, former trustee–were in attendance to recount the events of that very first outing in 1979. The event is SSMMA’s only fundraiser, and we are most grateful to all who participated, donated raffle baskets or sponsorships, volunteered, and otherwise braved the heat on the hottest day of the year!
