SSMMA/ Legislative partners provide leadership at IML’s annual conference

The Illinois Municipal League’s (IML) Annual Conference, held September 19-21, 2019, is the premier educational and professional development event for all municipal officials in Illinois. The conference, held at the Hilton Chicago, 720 South Michigan Avenue, attracts 2,000+ elected officials from cities, villages and towns of all sizes. Over three days, officials and staff will be provided with an opportunity to not only learn from industry experts, but also exchange ideas and build relationships with their municipal colleagues. The Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC) is excited to host Booth #411 at the upcoming Illinois Municipal League (IML) annual conference. NWMC staff, along with representatives of SPC member councils of government the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference, South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association and Will County Governmental League will be on hand to greet municipal officials and promote the forty-two products and services offered by the SPC. The exhibit hall will be open on Thursday, September 19 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Friday, September 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For additional information, please contact NWMC Purchasing Director Ellen Dayan, edayan@nwmc-cog.org or 847-296-9200, ext. 132. In addition, Angela Mesaros–Homewood’s Director of Economic and Community Development–will participate in a panel discussion, “Attracting Millennials to Your Community,” moderated by Richton Park Mayor Rick Reinbold. Beecher Village Administrator Robert O Barber will participate in the “Capital Planning for Small Municipalities” discussion. Illinois State Rep. Debbie Meyers-Martin will join IL State Rep. Kelly Burke and others on the “Legislator Panel.” And IL State Rep. Emanuel “Chris” Welch will join the “Sports Betting & Gaming: Latest from the Legislature” discussion.
