SPC Exhibit at the IML Conference was a Success There was plenty of traffic at the Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC) booth during last week’s Illinois Municipal League (IML) Conference. Booth #411 was at the center of action on the exhibition floor where SPC representatives spoke to nearly 300 attendees who stopped by to learn more about the benefits of our joint purchasing program. We thank Daniel Knickelbein and Marianne Devo-Green from the DuPage Mayors & Managers Conference (DMMC), Melissa Doud from the South Suburban Mayors & Managers Association (SSMMA) and Jack Cruikshank from the Will County Governmental League (WCGL) who helped staff the booth and promote the SPC. It was a great opportunity to meet potential customers and demonstrate the time and cost savings by participating in the SPC.
SPC Governing Board Awards New Ford Explorer Contract The Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC) Governing Board has approved the award of the 2020 Ford Explorer with option packages and other options (Contract #191) to Kunes Country Auto Group of Antioch. The Explorer is priced at $25,415.00 and the contract runs from September 17, 2019 through September 16, 2020. SPC Awards Final Ford Transit Van and Ford Escape Contract Extensions The SPC Governing Board has approved the third and final, one-year contract extension for the 2020 Ford Transit Van with option packages and other options (Contract #150) to Currie Motors of Frankfort from September 15, 2019 through September 14, 2020. The contract extension contains the following price increases: 2020 Full Size Transit with Low Roof will increase from $21,748.00 to $23,200.00; all Low Roof Transits will increase $1,473.00; and, Mid-and High Room Transits will increase $3,532.00.
The SPC Governing Board has also approved the third and final, one-year contract extension for the 2020 Ford Escape with option packages and other options (Contract #165) to Currie Motors of Frankfort from November 15, 2019 through November 14, 2020. SPC Approves Chevy, Ford Vehicle Contract Extensions The Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC) Governing Board is pleased to report the extension of the 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe Police Patrol Package (Contract #185) to Currie Motors Chevrolet through the end of the model year with no price increases. The 2020 model year is having a very short production run, with a factory order cut- off date of September 23, 2019. To accommodate purchasers after the factory order cut-off, Currie Motors has agreed to stock fifty additional vehicles (in black or white only) that may be purchased on this contract with no price increases until those units have been depleted. Although two additional contract extensions remain on Contract #185, General Motors will not begin production on their new 2021 model year vehicles until summer, 2020. Currie anticipates that due to significant product changes, the 2021 vehicle will need to be rebid. The SPC had requested model year rollovers from Ford Motor Company on all SPC F-series contracts, but Ford declined due to changes in the engine/drive line, connectivity, upgraded transmissions and standard equipment that includes options that were previously priced as extras on the 2019 models. In addition, Ford has increased destination/delivery charges to their dealers.
