Midlothian Public Works is accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant

The Village of Midlothian Public Works Department is seeking to fill an Administrative Assistant position. The Administrative Assistant performs a variety of complex clerical duties and provides administrative assistance for the Superintendent and staff. The Public Works Department is comprised of 16 staff members, and provides municipal service in the maintenance and repair of the Village roadway system, street lights, street signs, storm sewer and drainage system, parkway trees, public sidewalks, water and sanitary sewer, vehicles, buildings, and right-of-ways.

The position requires an enthusiastic, highly organized individual with excellent organizational skills, strong clerical and bookkeeping skills, proficiency in MS Office programs, particularly Word, Excel and Access, is detail-oriented, and interested in performing a variety of functions. The individual must be customer service oriented, interact well with the public and staff and be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. A minimum of 2 years related experience is required.

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, during normal working hours; occasional overtime may be required. Benefits provided by the Village include paid vacation and sick leave, life, medical and dental insurance, 10 paid holidays and retirement plan. The salary range for this position is $28K – $32K DOQ.
