The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), and the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) have completed the Tier Two Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), which recommends a new 50-mile toll road that will connect I-55 near Wilmington, Illinois with I-65 near Lowell, Indiana.

The Tier Two Final EIS describes the process through which the project was developed, and included the identification of transportation needs, consideration of a range of reasonable alternatives, evaluated the potential impacts that significantly affect the quality of the natural and human environment resulting from the alternatives, and demonstrates compliance with other applicable environmental laws…The Final EIS can be viewed at the project website, and is available for viewing at public facilities within the study area. For a complete listing of viewing locations, or to order a DVD, please visit the project website. Click here to read more.
