Cook County seeks information on properties that can potentially host community solar development

Have you considered solar for your property? Does your building have at least 10,000 sq ft of usable roof space or do you own property with at least one acre of available land? Are you willing to explore a community solar array instead of traditional solar? Community solar helps bring solar to those not typically able to access it.

The U.S. Department of Energy (USDOE), through its Solar Market Pathways initiative, has awarded Cook County a grant to analyze the potential of community solar electricity sites in Cook County. The Cook County Community Solar Project is seeking information on specific rooftop and/or land properties that can potentially host a community solar development within Cook County.

This is a Request for Expression of Interest (REI) only. This REI is issued solely for information and planning purposes – it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit Cook County, USDOE, or other partners to contract for any supply or service. Responders are advised that Cook County will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this REI; all costs associated with responding to this REI will be solely at the interested party’s expense. Not responding to this REI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. Read more.
