Cook County channels another $1 million in stimulus funds to help small businesses


Ollie Williams, co-owner of D.A.’s Deli & Dining in Calumet City, believes he operates the only soul food restaurant with a drive-thru in the south suburbs.

Unable to offer indoor dining to customers, Williams has adapted by offering delivery services and allowing customers to order online or via apps on mobile devices. Grant funds and professional business counseling from the Southland Development Authority has made the difference, he said.
