Applications are now being accepted for Smart Growth America 2015 workshops

From the Smart Growth America web site:

Each year, Smart Growth America makes a limited number of technical assistance workshops available to interested communities for zero cost. This competitive award gives communities a chance to understand the technical aspects of smart growth development through a one- or two-day workshop.

Applications are now being accepted for their 2015 workshop series. Communities can apply for one of 12 workshop types as part of the free program, including:

  1. Implementing smart growth 101

  2. Planning for economic and fiscal health

  3. Sustainable land use code audit

  4. Complete Streets

  5. Using LEED-ND to accelerate the development of sustainable communities

  6. Walkability workshop/audit

  7. Regional planning for small communities

  8. Smart growth zoning codes for small cities

  9. Transportation performance measurement

  10. “Cool planning”

  11. Parking audits

  12. Implementing transit-oriented development 101

Any unit or subdivision of local government, Indian tribe, or regional government is eligible to apply for these free workshops. Communities may apply for more than one workshop, but must submit separate applications for each. Applications are due by Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 5:00 PM EDT. Click here for more information, or to apply.
